Mostly sunny and warm with light wind, then mostly clear overnight. The high temperature was around sixty four degrees, and the low around forty seven degrees Fahrenheit. Songbirds are eating consistently. Intermittent streams are mostly all flowing at a medium spring rate. Marsh Marigolds are in full flower, some more apple tree leaves are emerging. Weeping Willow leaves are emerging. Fields are being sprayed, plowed and planted.  View

Soil sample at 8" below surface is completely dry and soil is becoming compacted despite the use of heavy mulch on growing beds since last fall. Hesitating to put crops in ground due to lack of moisture. Pasture grass growth is slowing. While painting ramps found soil in forested areas are very dry. Worried about well water supply so curtailing irrigation. Spring/cool-weather crops should have been in ground by this date. A total of 4.1 inches of rain fell in April. Crops need approximately 1-2" per week to thrive. Most of the 4.1" fell in the first 2 weeks of April  View
